Coalition for Training for Research and Development Pvt Ltd (CTRaDe) developed a Training module on GBV Islamic Relief Nepal and Islamic Relief Canada. The assignment lasted for one month from 24 Dec 2020 –23 January. As a part of the consultancy project based on the developed training module the ToT training was conducted by CTRaDe in Chapur, Rautahat from 17 – 19 – Feb 2021 with the financial support of Islamic Relief Worldwide Nepal, Islamic Relief Canada in coordination with Rural Development Center (RDC) Rautahat .
The consultancy project was carried out to support the “Equal and Just Society by Reducing GBV in Rautahat District” EJSRGBV project implemented by RDC Rautahat. Further, a developed module on GBV adheres envisioned goal of the project to create an equal and just society by reducing GBV in society and shall include appropriate gender-sensitive methodologies /approach to enables supported champions project assists them to take appropriate measures using a gender-sensitive approach to alleviate their sufferings by improving their socio-economic status.
The developed curriculum was part of strategic intervention of project which attempts to enable religious leaders, youths, children from both sexes to spread messages for safeguarding rights bestowed upon women/girls by the constitution and religious texts and work toward reducing unequal power relations between men and women develop themselves as advocate, initiator and change maker in their society.
In ToT Training on GBV held in Rautahat, there were a total of 19 participants in the training, including police, municipal officials, local representatives at the local level, and local representatives and projects staffs of RDC Rautahat. The major objectives of the training were to apply and test the developed training manual on GBV and further enhance the facilitation and training skills of the staff of Implementing Partner of Islamic Relief Worldwide Nepal. The feedback received from the training was incorporated into the manual at the end and the manual was finalized.
In addition, the training enabled participated project staffs to give similar training at their placement to targeted groups of projects. Likewise, it helped the finalize the prepared training manual with participants’ feedback. The 3 days ToT training was facilitated by Team led by Mr.BikashThapa, Kishor Kumar Thapa assigned for developing module on GBV and Ms.Aruna Koju as Co-Trainer for ToT training. Likewise, Advocate Mr.AftabAlam, a representative from the District Legal Aid Committee, was invited by a local Resource Person. The training was informally inaugurated through the welcome speech of Mr. Paras Husain, President of RDC Rautahat.
The training helped the participants to learn in detail about the GBV, case management process along with giving them clarity on psychosocial care and referral mechanism. They also expressed that the training helped them know better about their roles in the protection sector.

Similarly, Lila Thapa, Counselor, OCMC, Rautahat’The Training modality is very good and we suggest to the organizer to organize refresher training on GBV in the future too.
